Guangxi Planning Exhibition Hall locates in Wuxiang District, Nanning City. It is a major public welfare venue in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is currently the largest provincial-level planning museum in China. The exhibition hall has a planned area of 122 acres, with a construction area of 46,000 square meters. It is the National 4A Class Scenic Area.
In 2011, the exhibition hall was officially opened to the public. In December 2018, it was reopened to the public after the comprehensive upgrade construction. The first and second floors are the exhibition areas for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangxi Province while the third floor exhibits other displays.
Exhibitions in Guangxi Planning Exhibition Hall
Guangxi Planning Exhibition Hall is divided into 3 floors, with a total of 26 exhibition halls.
Entering the first floor of the museum, you will see the Guangxi Overview Hall, Guangxi Planning Hall and the Popular Science Experience Hall.
In the Guangxi Overview Hall, the Guangxi’s organization system, from prehistoric, Qin, Han dynasties, to the modern times is written on the wall. There is also a small exhibition hall, which screen shows the profile of the ethnic minorities in Guangxi. A special film introducing the history of Guangxi is projected on a blue brick wall covering about 10 square meters. Another movie shows the prosperous progress of Guangxi.
In the Guangxi Planning Hall, the sound, light, electricity and sand tables show major regional planning projects and important district planning projects of Guangxi.
In the Popular Science Experience Hall, people can experience and learn the science personally through many interactive displays.
The exhibition areas in the second floor have the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and Guangxi Agricultural Hall, which specifically introduces the urban overview, development history, construction results, urban planning and urban characteristics of 14 cities (including Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin and Wuzhou) as well as the agricultural development of Guangxi.
The third floor has the VIP Core Model Hall, Beauty of Guangxi Hall, and the cinema. The cinema is equipped with a 120-degree curved screen and the advanced digital playback system, showing people the beautiful natural scenery and future prospects of Guangxi Province with majestic pictures.
