Putuo Buddha Tea
The Buddha Tea of Mount Putuo, which is planted around the local temples, is well-known for its good taste and its connotation of Buddhist culture. The Buddha Tea can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and was used to be tribute to Buddha or gift to noble guests. Currently, there are about 272 hectares of the Buddha Tea planted in the Putuo District of Zhoushan City. With the annual yield of 120 metric tons on average, the Buddha Tea creates more than 10 million RMB (1.5 million USD) of production value for the local economy.
Sea Product

You can buy crab, jellyfish, mud snail, yellow croaker, and the hairtails in Zhoushan. The yellow croaker is a species of marine fish in the croaker family native to the northwestern Pacific, generally in temperate waters. It lives in coastal waters and estuaries, often in brackish water, and can be found on muddy-sandy bottoms.
Shell Carving
Shell carving is a kind of elaborate art work, which uses natural shells as raw materials. Handicraftsmen ingeniously take advantage of the shells natural color, texture and shape to compose the pictures. Then through clipping, grinding, carving, polishing, assembling, inlaying and sticking, an exquisite art form - shell carving is born. The shell carving usually takes various forms, which mainly consist of flat-sticking style, mezzo-relievo style, inlay style, three-dimension style and so on.
