Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport
Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport (IATA: ZQZ, ICAO: ZBZJ) is a dual-use civil and military airport in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. It is a class 4C airport owning a 2500 meters long and 45 meters wide runway, with the capability of handling 200,000 passengers and 900 tons of cargo annually. The terminal building covers an area of 5400 square meters. It is 9 kilometers southeast of Zhangjiakou downtown.
The airport used to be a fully military air base. In May 2010, the construction of converting it partially into a civil airport has started. The airport is reopened on June 16, 2013 as a dual-use civil and military airport.
There are four airlines having flights in Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport. China Eastern Airlines has flights to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Hainan Airlines to Guangzhou and Shijiazhuang, Hebei Airlines to Shijiazhuang, and Spring Airlines to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
Zhangjiakou Railway Station
Zhangjiakou Railway Station is located at the south of Zhangjiakou city. It covers an area of 98,000 square meters with 6 platforms and 16 railroads. The station is currently under reconstruction.
The old station, Zhangjiakou South Railway Station, was constructed in 1956 and officially opened in 1957. It belongs to the Beijing Railway Administration and the Beijing-Baotou Railway routes. As of November 12, 2017, this station, which had been operating for 60 years on the Beijing-Baotou Railway, was officially closed down in preparation for the new Beijing-Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway. It is expected to be re-opened late 2019. Passenger trains that had originally arrived and stopped at the station were all transferred to Shalingzi West Railway Station
Shalingzi West Railway Station
Shalingzi West Railway Station is located at Yaojiafang Town, and covers an area of 2,500 square meters. In 2015, the station is opened. It temporarily handled all the transfers which were supposed to arrive at Zhangjiakou Railway Station from 2017, when the latter is closed for reconstruction. On March 2, 2019, Shalingzi West Railway Station was renamed as Zhangjiakou South Railway Station.
