Jingdezhen belongs to the humid subtropical climate affected by the East Asian monsoon. There are four clear seasons: unpredictable spring, hot summer, cool autumn and short but cold winter. The monthly 24-hour average temperature ranges from 5°C in January to 28°C in July, with an annual average of 18°C. The average annual precipitation is 1,830mm. The monthly possible sunshine ranging from 25% in March to 56% in August, the city receives 1,798 hours of bright sunshine annually.
Winter is sunny and dry but becomes progressively wetter and cloudier. Spring begins gloomy, and from March to July each of the months averages more than 190mm of rainfall. Summer is the sunniest season in Jingdezhen. It is long, hot and humid. While autumn remains to be warm and is relatively dry.
b. Jingdezhen International Ceramics Festival
It is an important festival which has already taken place more than 10 times since 1990. Jingdezhen International Ceramics Festival is usually held in October. Porcelain craftsmanship is the focus of the show. The festival help promote the ceramics culture and economic development of Jingdezhen.
