Quancheng Square is located in a prosperous area in Lixia District, which is the central square of Jinan. It faces to Qianfo Mountain in the south, Daming Lake in the north, Baotu Spring in the west and Jiefang Pavilion in the east. Quancheng Square is 790 meters long from east to west, and 280 meters wide from north to south. It covers an area of nearly 220,000 square meters. The green area is 80,000 square meters; the water surface area is about 20,000 square meters; the ground pavement reaches to 120,000 square meters.
Since its establishment in 1999, Quancheng Square has been the first choice for various large-scale public welfare and publicity activities. It has become an important and famous landmark in Jinan and even Shandong Province. In August 2002, Quancheng Square was officially awarded the title of "International Art Plaza" by UNESCO. Quancheng Square has become the first and only city square in China to receive this honor.
Main attractions at Quancheng Square
The functional zones are distributed from west to east along the axis. At the main entrance of the square, the solemn national flag flutters in the wind. Under the flag, the four Chinese characters "Quancheng Square" are inscribed at the entrance. The "Quancheng Square Record" is engraved on the back.
The main spots from west to east are Baotu Spring Plaza, Cultural Corridor, Quanbiao Plaza, Xiachen Plaza, Children’s Paradise, Riverside Plaza, Ginza Shopping Plaza, Lotus Music Fountain, Four Seasons Garden, Cultural Corridor and Technology Museum.
Ginza Shopping Plaza is located on the basement level of Quancheng Plaza, with a business area of more than 30,000 square meters, of which the large supermarkets, boutique areas, dining and entertainment areas each occupy 10,000 square meters. Compared with the green natural environment on the ground, the Ginza Shopping Plaza welcomes the visitors with a beautiful shopping environment.
Cultural Corridor is located on the east side of Quancheng Square. It is an important landmark of the square and the best place to appreciate the whole view of the square. The cultural corridor is arc-shaped, 150 meters long from north to south, 16 meters high, and is divided into three floors. The wall is embedded with the traditional Chinese columns, which reflects the connotation of traditional culture. There are 12 sculptures of the historical and famous celebrities in the corridor, including Da Shun, Guan Zhong, Kong Qiu, Sun Wu, Mo Di, Meng Ke, Zhuge Liang, Wang Xizhi, Jia Sixie, Li Qingzhao, Qi Jiguang, and Pu Songling.
