Baotou Donghe Airport
Baotou’s airport is called Baotou Donghe Airport(IATA:BAV,ICAO:ZBOW), previously known as Erliban Airport. Located in Donghe District, it has two terminals, and is the second largest airport in Inner Mongolia. It is about 2.7 kilometers away from the East Railway Station and 23 kilometers away from downtown.
Built in 1934, this airport in Baotou has a history of more than 80 years. After 1938, the airport has been expanded for multiple times until 2006. As a class 4D airport, the runways are 2800 meters long and 60 meters wide, and parking area covers 58,000 square meters.
Donghe Airport has flights of several main airlines in China including Air China and China Eastern Airline, and covers popular cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan and so on.
Railway Stations
As the largest city in Inner Mongolia, Baotou enjoys a convenient transportation. There are 3 main railway stations in Baotou: Baotou train station, Baotou East train station, and Baotou West train station.
Baotou Train Station
The station was opened in 1956 and is so far the largest comprehensive railway station in Inner Mongolia. The distance to downtown is about 7 kilometers, and 17 kilometers to Baotou Donghe Airport. It runs lines to multiple cities, such as Hohhot, Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi’an.

Baotou East Train Station
As the second-large train station in Baotou, Baotou East train station is about 25 kilometers away from downtown, 5 kilometers away from Baotou Donghe Airport, and 21 kilometers away from Baotou Train Station. It scheduled trains to similar cities as Baotou Tarin Station.
