Day 1 Kunming
Day 2 Kunming - Mangshi (by air) - Ruili (by automobile)
Day 3 Ruili - Lianghe - Tengchong (by automobile)
Golden Duck Pagoda, Hansa Temple, Lianghe Tusi Office, villages of Jingpo and Dai minorities
Today, setting out to the Golden Duck Pagoda, an attractive stupa set in a temple courtyard, which is a symbol of good luck and happiness.
Then head to the Hansa Temple, a great place to experience mysterious Buddhism culture, which features in its grand buildings and splendid decorations.
Afterwards, take an overland drive about 6 hours via Lianghe to Tengchong. En route, you will take stop to visit in the Lianghe Tusi Office (Former Office of Local Governor) dating back to Ming and Qing Dynasty.
On the way, you will also visit villages of Jingpo and Dai ethnic minorities with deep ethnic accumulation and unique folk custom.
Day 4 Tengchong
Volcano Park, Heshun Overseas Chinese Village, Hot Springs, British Consulate General Office
In the morning, visit the Volcano Park at Mazhan town. Located in one of the main earthquake territories in China, the park characterizes itself by 20 big and small volcanoes.
Afterwards, head to the Heshun Overseas Chinese Village. Wandering through alleys there, you can admire the folk buildings and experience local custom.
Then, relax yourself in Hot Springs on the outskirts of Tengchong. Rich in sulphur and other mineral elements, they are believed by the locals to be curable of certain diseases.
Later, stroll in the former British Consulate General Office back in 1920s and feel the strong sense of local history and culture.
Day 5 Tengchong - Dali (by automobile)
Day 6 Dali - Lijiang (by automobile)
The Three Pagodas is the symbol of Dali City. Three Pagodas are made of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle.
In Xizhou Town, you will get an idea of what traditional Bai architecture really is. The asset of Xizhou are its well-preserved courtyards,which make the old town a living art museums.
Day 7 Lijiang
The Baisha Village is one of the oldest towns in Lijiang as well as one of the earliest communities of the Naxi ethnic group. The 44 pieces of ancient murals there were carved in the early Ming Dynasty.
The Old Town of Lijiang (UNESCO) is one of the best-preserved ancient towns in China and is famous for its distinctive Naxi culture and ancient buildings.
