Recently, Beijing has launched a new 15km cruise route, enabling direct water travel from the city center to the sub-center and adding a fresh option for residents and tourists.
The route follows core water systems, linking key scenic spots. Starting downtown, it passes historic water spots including Shichahai and the former Yuhe River course, showcasing traditional courtyards alongside modern buildings. Midway, it goes through Canal Forest Park with lush greenery and reeds, highlighting natural ecology. It ends at Tongzhou’s core sub-center, offering close access to the administrative area and Canal Cultural Belt.
For business hubs, the route connects iconic old-town areas like Nanluoguxiang and Yandai Xiejie (for specialty food and cultural products), nears Xinhua Street (for daily consumption), and covers Tongzhou Canal Business District (for offices and leisure).
The new route provides an efficient water corridor between the two centers, easing ground traffic. It also strings together cultural, ecological and commercial resources, delivering a concise "one trip, multiple highlights, land-water link" experience.
