A Spring Festival-themed exhibition has recently opened at the Chinese Traditional Culture Museum (CTCM) in Beijing, offering visitors a taste of the festive vibe during the Chinese New Year holiday. The exhibition is free of charge and will last until March 2nd.
Featuring more than 120 provincial and national level forms of intangible cultural heritages, the exhibition is arranged around the timeline of the festival. The vibrant customs and joyful traditions that make the festival special are brought to life here. During the exhibition, the museum will regularly organize displays and performances of representative intangible cultural heritage items from across China.
Spring Festival is the grandest traditional festival in China. In December 2024, Spring Festival and its social practices for celebrating the traditional New Year were added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
