"Why Dunhuang" Dunhuang Art Exhibition will be opened at China Art Museum, Shanghai on 20 September. It is the annual representative exhibition of Dunhuang art with "diverse exhibits, huge exhibition scale and precious cultural relics".
During this exhibition, visitors can experience the charm of Dunhuang - located at the throat of the Silk Road, nearly two thousand years' history, known as "the world's longest desert gallery" and "the Museum of culture and art on the wall" - without leaving Shanghai.
This exhibition includes 1:1 replicas of six classic caves in the Mogao Grottoes, six exhibits first showed in Shanghai, and six relics with replicas. The exhibition will be lasted until 20 December, 2024.
