On October 17, the Hong Kong Palace Museum announced that a collection of 250 ancient Egyptian treasures had arrived at the museum, ahead of its upcoming exhibition titled “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Museums in Egypt.” Running from November 20, 2025, to August 31, 2026, the exhibition will be Hong Kong’s largest, most comprehensive, and longest-running presentation of ancient Egyptian artifacts to date.

Co-organized with Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), the event marks the first time that Hong Kong is hosting museum artifacts on loan directly from Egypt, including the latest archaeological discoveries. Spanning nearly 4,000 years of history, the 250-piece collection ranges from monumental statues and inscribed stone stelae to mummy coffins, gold jewelry, and even animal mummies - with many items leaving Egypt for the first time.

More than ten multimedia installations inside and outside the gallery will offer immersive experiences, such as a dynamic recreation of the mummification process and a virtual firsthand exploration of Tutankhamun’s tomb excavation, bringing the ancient civilization vividly to life.
