Air China will launch a new direct flight service between Chongqing and Manila starting May 1, 2026, according to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines. The service will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Flight CA481 is scheduled to depart Chongqing at 21:00 and arrive in Manila at 00:50 the following day, while the return flight CA482 will depart Manila at 01:50. This new air link is expected to significantly enhance inbound tourism by providing a direct gateway for Philippine travelers to explore Southwest China’s distinctive mountainous urban landscape.
The embassy stated that the route offers a more convenient travel option for passengers, connecting major hubs in both nations. For travelers from the Philippines, the service simplifies access to Chongqing and serves as a starting point for exploring broader regional destinations. Meanwhile, passengers from Southwest China will gain easier access to Manila and famous Philippine tourist spots such as Boracay and Cebu. By strengthening air connectivity, the new route aims to promote economic cooperation and cultural exchanges, further supporting the steady growth of inbound tourism and regional travel partnerships between China and the Philippines.
