According to figures released by the Tibet Tourism Bureau, a record number of 6.37 million tourists from home and abroad visited Tibet Autonomous Region in the first 10 months of 2010, 20.8% more than in the same period of the previous year.
The Tibet Tourism bureau says that in the period from January to October, the number of inbound tourists rose 34.1% year on year to 2.04 million.
Total tourism revenue rose 45.1% from a year earlier to a record CNY6.45 billion in the first 10 months of the year, while foreign exchange income from international tourism jumped to USD93.63 million.
