Shanghai Tourism Festival, the city’s biggest extravaganza, is featured on various events of music, food, sports and arts. It will last from September 9 to October 6, and the city’s tourist destinations will offer 50% discount for tickets.
At the opening ceremony, there will be more than 30 troupes and 25 floats on a grand parade along Huaihai Road. Cycling events, marathons, music concerts, photography contest will be held along the Huangpu River during the festival.
A sparkling wine festival with wine tasting events will take place at Jing'an Park from September 8 to 10; Hengfu art festival featuring on jazz music, street performance and gallery will happen in Hengshan Road and Fuxing Road M. area; world top magicians will show up in Shanghai Happy Valley during the national day.
Many more small-scale festivals are also included in the Shanghai Tourism Festival, such as a music festival in Zhujiajiao Water Town, a comedy art festival in Jing'an District, a seafood festival in Jinshanzui fishing village, a dragon and lion dance culture festival on Sanlin Old Street and a German beer festival in Changning District.
