Recommended by the Bureau of Culture and Tourism of the Binhai New Area, and organized by the Tianjin Tourism Scenic Area Rating Committee, the National Maritime Museum of China has reached the standard, and is approved as the National 4A Class Scenic Area.
National Maritime Museum of China is located in Tianjin’s Binhai New District, which is a comprehensive marine museum integrating collection, display, research and education together. It is the first one in China. It can be called the "Forbidden City on the Ocean". The museum covers an area of 15 hectares, with a construction area of 80,000 square meters, and an exhibition area of 23,000 square meters.
National Maritime Museum of China aims to become an important part of the national public cultural system, become a marine cultural relics collection and protection center, a marine civilization research center, a marine cultural exchange and communication center, a marine experience center, and a national patriotism education base in China.
