Known as the hometown of the giant pandas, China’s Sichuan Province will open a large panda-themed international resort soon in May. The resort project is expected to attract 12 million tourists from China and overseas annually once the construction project is completed.
The core project of the 35-square kilometer resort in Chengdu, is the expanded Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and the construction will be finished in May. Under the project, the research base will be expanded to three times its previous size and will open in August.
The international resort will have three main industrial parts involving on the giant pandas, including the scientific research, international tourism and cultural creative products. Also, the themed hotels, themed restaurants, botanic gardens and farms will also be built in the resort.
