Recently, the Shanghai Museum of Glass opens an exhibition on Pingpo Miao paintings. This exhibition has been received with much fanfare by the art aficionados. The exhibition will last until March 28.
These unique paintings on shown are all created by a group of female peasants from the mountain areas of southwest China's Guizhou Province. The Pingpo Miao paintings are originated from the Pingpo Village of Guizhou Province. The village is located in the northeastern part of Longli County, which is a major settlement of "Xiaohua Miao," a branch of the Miao ethnic group.
Pingpo Miao paintings reflect the beautiful and creative images, which are inspired by the local traditional customs and religions. These paintings also show the changes around the people, depicting their daily lives in the authentic and vivid method.
