According to the Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, a direct flight will link Jinan, the capital city of eastern China's Shandong Province, and Helsinki, the capital and the biggest port in Finland. Starting on April 8th, the air route operated by China's Tibet Airlines will be the first direct flight connecting Jinan and Finland in China.
This flight is the first intercontinental flight of Tibet Airlines, and also the first Chinese airlines operating a direct flight between China and Finland. The air route is going to be operated on every Monday and Thursday with an Airbus 330 aircraft, according to the airlines.
Jinan will be the eighth city that opens direct flight to Helsinki, after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chongqing, Xi'an and Nanjing in China. The flight time can be shortened to approximately 10 hours between Jinan and Helsinki, which making the travel easier for visitors and businessman.
Jinan locates in the northwest of Shandong Province. It is the juncture of the Beijing-Shanghai and Qingdao-Jinan railways. Jinan carries the nickname City of Springs because of the numerous artesian wells that bubble up in the city. The water from these springs flows north towards the main landmark, Daming Lake, and then onwards to the Yellow River.
