A new direct air route was launched on August 26 between Shenzhen City, which locates in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, and Zurich - the biggest city in Switzerland. The new air route is the first direct flight to Switzerland in the Guangzhou Area.
The new air route is operated by Boeing 787 of Hainan Airline. The flight departures from Shenzhen at 01:20 a.m. Beijing time and arrives in Zurich at 07:55 a.m. local time. The flight number is HU741. The return flight HU 742 leaves Zurich at 11:40 a.m. local time and arrives in Shenzhen at 05:00 a.m. Beijing time. The flight is scheduled to fly on each Monday and Friday.
Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong, Shenzhen's location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in this city. From then on, the city has become a highlight of China, and known for its rapid economic growth.
