Mount Tianshan of Xinjiang added to World Heritage List

Mount Tianshan natural site of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in Northwestern China is newly added to the World Heritage List during the 37th session of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee (WHC), announced by the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sok An, who is the chairman of the 37th WHC session.

 

 

The inscription of Xinjiang Mount Tianshan raised the number of China mainland’s natural sites on the World Heritage List to 44. At the same time, the inscription showed the outstanding universal value of the property as well as China's resolve in safeguarding the natural property for the future generations.
