The first direct flight between Manchester, a British provincial airport and Hong Kong was launched by Cathay Pacific on 8th, December. Previously, direct flights from Britain to China were only available from London. Cathay Pacific already operates five flights a day from London Heathrow to Hong Kong.
The four-times-weekly flights will leaves from Hong Kong at 01:00, every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and arrive at Manchester on 6:20 local time. Flights will depart from Manchester the same day at 12:00 and will arrive in Hong Kong at 07:55 local time every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Passengers will travel aboard a Boeing 777-300ER extended range aircraft.
