The Hong Kong Heritage Museum opened an exhibition, which is entitled "Ceremony and Celebration: The Grand Weddings of the Qing Emperors" on Nov 29, 2016. This exhibition will last until Feb 27, 2017.
The exhibition displays 153 items from the precious collections of the Palace Museum including jewelries, imperial robes, costumes, ornaments, court musical instruments, etc.
Moreover, a restored replica of Emperor Kangxi's wedding room will be served for visitors to wonder the magnificence of imperial weddings. For those who love history, this is a grand feast.
The imperial weddings of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) with a plenty of rituals, embodied the combination of Manchu culture and customs, and Han marriage rites. Even some decorations such as a pair of exquisite candlesticks, duomu flask and a round box with patterns of phoenix and dragon, have their own meanings.
