The high-speed railway started operation between Guangzhou and Shanwei in south China's Guangdong Province, on September 26th. With a length of 200 kilometers, the new railway reduces the travel time between Guangzhou and Shanwei from the previous 140 minutes to around 70 minutes.
The new high-speed rail will pass through eight stations along the way: Xintang Station, Zengcheng, Luofushan, Boluo, Huizhou South, Huidong, Shenshan, and Shanwei. Among them, Xintang Station and Shanwei Station are existing stations, and the other 6 stations are newly built stations.
It plays a vital role in promoting economic and social integration between the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta regions.
