Recently, a museum themed on a national highway opened to the public in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The three-story museum, is named as G318 Road Nostalgic Mini Museum. It is located in the Litang County of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It covers an area of about 250 square meters, which is converted from a 100-year-old Tibetan residential building.
It focuses on a section of the National Highway 318 linking Sichuan and the neighboring Tibet Autonomous Region. The highway section is known for steep mountains and rugged terrain, attracting adventure lovers who want to catch a glimpse of the scenery.
The museum collects the objects owned by photographers and travelers who have trekked along the path. The collectibles on display include tickets, mountaineering backpacks, maps, oxygen bottles, motorcycles, skateboards and even a handful of soil. The museum also showcases the texts, pictures and videos chronicling stories of the travelers.
