According to the Luoyang Cultural Heritage Bureau, the Erlitou Relic Museum in Luoyang City, Henan Province will open to the public on October 20th. The opening ceremony of the museum will be held on October 19th. The museum will show the history of ancient China's first recorded dynasty of Xia (2070-1600 B.C.).
Located in the city of Luoyang, the Erlitou Relic Museum covers the area of 32,000 square meters. The history and culture of the Xia Dynasty as well as significant archaeological findings are exhibited in the museum. More than 2,000 cultural relics are shown on the exhibition. There will be 5 exhibition rooms in the museum. To have better visit experience, the sculptures, VR Experience, videos, interactive games are also included in the museum.
Erlitou site was discovered in 1959 in Luoyang City. Erlitou is the largest site associated with the Erlitou culture at 3 square kilometers. Erlitou monopolized the production of ritual bronze vessels. Palace buildings, city roads and bronze wares have been found over recent years at the Erlitou site.
