Recently, Chongqing Art Museum opens the photography exhibition on Old Industrial Bases and the Third-Front Movement. The exhibition is themed on “Witness reality”, and more than 200 image works of old industrial bases in Chongqing, Shanghai, Hunan and other cities are shown to the public.
Chongqing has always been an important industrial city in modern times. During the Anti-Japanese War, many important domestic industrial facilities moved to Chongqing. During the Third-Front Movement in 1960s and 1970s, there were more than 100 third-front industrial enterprises and scientific research institutions in different districts under the jurisdiction of Chongqing Municipality.
The exhibition is separated into two parts: “Old Industrial Base” and the “Third-Front Movement”, which helps to increase people’s attentions to the common workers in China. The photography works record the changes and stories of old industrial in different cities in China by using video and image devices.
