This summer, the legendary cultural giant Bob Dylan's first retrospective exhibition of visual art works will open at the Today Art Museum in Beijing from June 25 until September 20. The exhibition was presented in Shanghai for the past seven months at Shanghai’s Modern Art Museum, which caused a sensation.
The exhibition will include six series. More than 140 sketches, drawings, watercolors, paintings and sculptures are gathered, some of which are on loan from private collectors around the world, revisiting the classic memories of the rural folk songs of the 1960s. The deep roots and accumulation of rock culture have made Beijing the birthplace of Chinese rock music.
Bob Dylan, 79, is a great rock star, musician, poet, and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Under these honors, he is also an artist, painter and sculptor, who has the great passion for artistic creation. The exhibition sheds light on a lesser-known side of Bob Dylan, whose influence on pop culture has spanned five decades and operates in parallel with his explorations of visual art.
