Since February 10, Beijing Zoo has been updating the daily lives of the animals in the zoo online to the public, after its temporarily closing due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. Beijing Zoo uploads articles, videos and loads of pictures of the animals' training and feeding every day online.

According to Zhang Chenglin, the deputy curator of the zoo, they have increased zoo disinfection and health checks of animals while ensuring their food supplies are not disturbed during the epidemic. At present, all animals are doing fine. Though the zoo is closed, their job of caring for the animals continues at even higher standards.

At present, the "online zoo" features black muntjacs and giant pandas. It introduces all 10 pandas in the zoo, followed by pictures and videos showing them sauntering in snow and loudly munching bamboo. The service will be maintained after the zoo re-opens to the public.
