Beijing Pass, a multi-purpose all-in-one tourist transportation card, was officially put on sale on August 1. The Beijing Pass allows card payments for the subway, suburban railways and taxis in Beijing city, as well as public transportation in more than 300 cities, including popular tourist cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Nanjing. It also supports card swiping for admission to 30 well-known scenic spots and consumption at 20 authorized shops in Beijing city.

The maximum balance of Beijing Pass is 1,000 yuan (about 140 U.S. dollars). The card can be purchased at Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing Daxing International Airport and Beijing Railway Station.

Cardholders can top up their Beijing Pass at 490 stations across the city's 27 subway lines through service counters or designated self-service machines. They can also add funds online via the "SilkPass" mobile application.
