The 3rd Beijing Chrysanthemum Culture Festival kicked off at the International Flower Port in suburban Shunyi.
The festival runs from September 19 to October 31. About 800 varieties of white, yellow and purple chrysanthemums will be showcased during the festival.
The annual festival, themed "Golden Autumn Flavor, Relaxing Lifestyle", is expected to attract 200,000 visitors this year.
The chrysanthemum, known as the city flower of Beijing, is the highlight of Beijing tour in the autumn. Besides, the flower is considered one of the Four Noble Plants in Chinese culture.
