The 7th International Strawberry Symposium is held in Beijing from 18th Feb to 23rd Feb. The symposium is an attempt to showcasing the latest global high-tech achievements, production and development in the strawberry industry.
Initiated by the International Society for Horticulture, the symposium is held every four years, and this is the first time the event has been held in an Asian country.
Varieties of best-selected strawberries are on display in the green house at the Strawberry Expo Garden in Changping district, Beijing. Changping district has an annual strawberry output of ten million kilograms which bring in proceeds of over 250 million yuan per year.
Although the symposium will close on 23rd Feb, those who haven't been to the Strawberry Expo Garden still have a chance as the garden will open to the public until the end of June.
