Langqi Island is known as the Pearl of Minjiang River, which is located in Langqi Town, Mawei District, Fuzhou City. The island is 15.3 kilometers long from east to west and 8.1 kilometers wide from north to south. It is the fourth largest island in Fujian Province and the 21st largest island in China. The land area is 55 square kilometers. Its forest coverage rate reaches to 20% and the coastline is nearly 30 kilometers long.
Langqi Island has the subtropical maritime monsoon climate with the distinct four seasons and beautiful scenery. The natural conditions are very superior and it is a good place for sightseeing and leisure.

Langqi Island obtains many historical sites there. Many celebrities once lived there, including Minister Wang Zudao, Officer Lin Cun, Minister Chen Wensu, Jiang Wenpei, Dong Yanghe, Chen Xie and General Ren Guangyu from the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty.
There are four ancient temples on Langqi Island, including Baiyun Temple, Tianzhu Temple, Tian'an Temple and Nanshan Temple. There are more than 10 ancient temples, ancient ancestral halls, ancient forts and ancient tombs of celebrities. There are also Christian churches, 3 Christian activity sites, stone carvings on cliffs, ancient wells from Song Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, and one lake.
Langqi Baiyun Mountain or White Cloud Mountain is a good place to view the sunset pr sunrise. In the ancient times, many celebrities have ever been to Baiyun Mountain to view the sunrise, including the Prime Minister Ye Xianggao from Ming Dynasty, the scholar Weng Zhengchun, Minister Dong Yingju, and Huang Zhouxing. Baiyun Mountain is located in the eastern part of Langqi Island, with an altitude of 275 meters. Furong Peak, the main peak of Baiyun Mountain, has a magnificent terrain where you can overlook the beautiful scenery of Minjiang River. There is a newly built platform, which is 8 meters high, 20 meters long and 5 meters wide. The platform is made of square white granite.
Baiyun Temple, also known as Baiyun Banruo Temple, is located on the top of Furong Peak. It covers for 69,300 square areas. Baiyun Temple was built during the Southern Song Dynasty with a history of more than 800 years. It is surrounded by peaks and mountains on three sides, sitting facing to the south. The trees are towering into the clouds in quiet and elegant environment.
