Why is Jinmao Tower special?
Jinmao Tower stands out for its height and design inspired by a traditional Chinese pagoda. Standing on the observation deck gives tourists a whole splendid view of Shanghai city. Besides, would it be cool to send a postcard from the world's highest official post office?
Jinmao Tower Highlights
Height
The 88-story building was completed in 1999. It is 420.5 meters (almost 1380 feet) tall. The architect of this skyscraper ingeniously combined the elements of traditional Chinese culture with the modern style of the time.
The elevators
The tower offers the best elevators available. Two direct elevators can send visitors from the ground to the 88th floor within 45 seconds. Moreover, there are also five to six elevators every 10 floors, reducing the waiting-time to 35 seconds even during rush hours.
The Observation Deck
The 88th floor houses the Skywalk, a 1,520 m2 indoor observation deck with a capacity of 1000 people. In addition to the panoramic views of Shanghai, you can also enjoy a topside view of the hotel atrium below.
