Beihai Silver Beach is a famous tourist attraction in Beihai City. It is located in Yinhai District, Beihai City, covering an area of 38 square kilometers. It is 8 kilometers from Beihai City, stretching about 24 kilometers from east to west. The beach ranges from 30 to 3,000 meters in width. The sand on the beach is the fine quartz sand, which shines silver under the sunlight, hence the name Silver Beach. The soft beach is regarded as “the greatest beach in China”, because of its white sands, blue waves, clean water and relaxed environment. Opened since 1992, it is now the National 4A Class Scenic Area.
Main attractions of Beihai Silver Beach
Beihai Silver Beach is composed of three parts: Silver Beach Park, Beach Park, Hengli Ocean Sports and Entertainment Center. Many residential villas and hotel groups are built along the beach. There are also zones for sea bathing, marine sports, beach golf, volleyball, football and other beach sports, large-scale musical fountain and other interesting scenic spots.
Beihai Silver Beach Park is located in the middle part of Beihai Silver Beach. The park was built in 1990 and officially opened to the public in 1991. The Silver Beach stretches for about 24 kilometers from east to west. The Silver Beach Park has a beach area of 80,000 square meters and a bath area of 160,000 square meters, which can hold more than 10,000 people at the same time. The seawater transparency is more than 2 meters and the annual average water temperature is 23.7℃.
Beach Park is an important part of Beihai Silver Beach. The beach in the park is 1,500 meters long, with 100,000 square meters of the big lawn. It covers an area of more than 300 acres. The park has the largest laser music fountain in Asia, the world's largest jade boat on Kowloon, the large-scale bathing beach, and the giant stainless steel sculpture. Hotel, shopping mall, barbecue, series of fast food, beach volleyball, football, golf driving range, jet ski, racing, skating, dolphin and sea lion performance are all equipped for people to enjoy the vacation.
Hengli Ocean Sports and Entertainment Center covers an area of 220 acres and is designed by a group of famous architects. The central area of the park is the ancient-Roman-style circular square, with Aphrodite's large music and lighting fountain, and the water stage. Around the square, among the European-style circular columns, there are the sculptures of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and Athena, the goddess of wisdom, other Ancient Greek and Roman gods. Tourists could also find bumper boats, food street, beach barbecue field, beach volleyball court, football field, shopping mall, etc.
