General Information of Beijing 2022
Beijing has a special position in the history of the Olympic Games and is a city that has hosted both the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics. Some of the venues left over from the 2008 Beijing Olympics were reused in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The National Stadium, also known as "Bird's Nest", became the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The National Aquatics Center, known as the "Ice Cube", was the venue for Curling competitions.
The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics had 7 major events (skiing, ice skating, ice hockey, curling, skeleton, bobsleigh, biathlon), 15 sub-events (alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboard, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, Nordic biathlon, short track speed skating, speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey, curling, luge, skeleton, bobsleigh, biathlon) and 109 minor events, which is the one with the largest number of events and medals.
The total number of Chinese sports delegations for the Beijing Winter Olympics was 387, including 176 athletes, 164 team staff such as coaches, team leaders, and medical staff, and 47 other delegation members. This is the biggest delegation China has ever sent to any Winter Games.
A total number of about 1,300 female athletes participated in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, accounting for about 45% of all participating athletes, a record high in the history of the Winter Olympics; female athletes participated in 46 events, which was also the highest in the previous Winter Olympics.
Since the start of the recruitment of volunteers for the Games, more than 1 million people have submitted applications for volunteering at the Beijing Winter Olympics. According to the person in charge of the Volunteer Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, a total of 19,000 volunteers were hired for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The volunteers for the Games were divided into two categories: general volunteers and professional volunteers. The service scope of the volunteers for the Games covers external Ten categories, including liaison and competition operation, involving 41 business fields such as venue management, event services, logistics, technology, news operations, language services, sports competitions, and award ceremony.
CTG Service Information
As the official service provider of accommodation and catering for the Beijing Winter Olympics in the Zhangjiakou area, the 2,000-member team of China Tourism Group (CTG) provided all the food and accommodation service during the game period.
CTG successively linked 6 guaranteed hotels, 5 service fleets, and 25 overseas visa centers, and dispatched 2,451 staff members to provide services for the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. It provided a full range of long-chain services, successfully completed the service guarantee task, and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee, the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, domestic and foreign delegations and all walks of life.
Apart from the food and accommodation service in the Zhangjiakou Olympic Village, CTG also provides services including tea breaks and food delivery for guests in Genting Snow Park, National Cross Country Skiing Center, National Ski Jumping Center, and National Biathlon Center in Zhangjiakou Area.
