Day 2 (Sat) Kunming
Situated in the center of Kunming City, Flowers and Birds Market is the biggest and most ancient bazaar in Kunming. The market is home to many cultural relics, well-decorated shopping stores, various birds, diversified flowers and palatable snacks.
Day 3 (Sun) Kunming - Dali (by bullet train)
Today, transfer to the train station and take a high-speed train from Kunming to Dali, second class seat, or about 2 hours.
Take a walking tour of the Dali Old Town to capture its charm with narrow cobbled streets and traditional stone architecture.
Day 4 (Mon) Dali - Lijiang (by automobile)
Shaping Market is a local market on every Monday. The local people come to the market from surrounding villages to exchange their daily wares, farming products, traditional clothes, or simply foods and vegetables.
The Old Town of Lijiang (UNESCO) is one of the best-preserved ancient towns in China and is famous for its distinctive Naxi culture and ancient buildings.
Day 5 (Tue) Lijiang
Visit the Dongba Culture Museum and gain a full glimpse of local Naxi ethic culture.
The Yuhu Village is an ancient village of Naxi Ethnic Group. The famous Former Residence of Dr. Joseph Rock is also located there.
The Baisha Village is one of the oldest towns in Lijiang as well as one of the earliest communities of the Naxi ethnic group. The 44 pieces of ancient murals there were carved in the early Ming Dynasty.
Day 6 (Wed) Lijiang - Shangri-La (by automobile)
Day 7 (Thu) Shangri-La
Pay a visit to a Tibetan family. Sitting in their wooden house built with big sitting room and Buddhism hall, you may try some Tibetan specialties such as buttered tea, local yogurt and barley wine.
